Pier Luigi Ungania was born in Bologna on 8 April 1957 and graduated with a degree in Business and Economics in 1980. He began his career as a chartered accountant in 1981. He has been a senior partner at Studio La Croce’s Bologna office since 2020. In 1992, he founded Studio Associato Ungania e Zambelli with Fabio Zambelli, which became Buscaroli Ungania Zambelli e Associati in 2019. From 1980 to 1992, he worked for Studio Landi Commercialisti, where he later became a partner. He has specialised expertise in private and public companies, companies with governance structures and processes, extraordinary corporate restructuring transactions, including for listed companies, national and international corporate and tax law, including M&A transactions, business contracts, and company valuations. He has consolidated experience in business consultancy to entrepreneurs, directors and management teams at private and public SMEs, including multinational ones, with a particular focus on tax planning, intercompany relationships within corporate groups, and extraordinary finance transactions. He frequently takes up positions in private and public companies as a director, liquidator and a member on boards of statutory auditors.He has held teaching positions at the University of Ferrara since 2013, where he conducts seminars and lectures on Professional Business and Economics Techniques, with a specific focus on extraordinary transactions.He has been a director of Bologna’s Association of Chartered Accountants for three terms, as well as a treasurer for one of those terms.He has also participated in various study commissions for Bologna's Association of Chartered Accountants.
